Hawai'i Pacific University Presents THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, 4/6-5/6

Hawaii-Pacific-University-Presents-THE-IMPORTANCE-OF-BEING-EARNEST-46-56-20010101

Actor Mitchell Milan returns to Hawaii to star in the Hawaii Pacific University production of Oscar Wilde's timeless comedy THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. Milan portrayed the miser Harpagon in HPU's production of the Moliere classic THE MISER. He returned to direct Joyce Maltby and Don Pomes in the highly acclaimed HPU production of THE GIN GAME which garnered several Po' okela awards. "When Joyce called me in California and asked if I would play the role of Lady Bracknell, I was thrilled," he says. "It's a wonderful part and a great play and working with Joyce is terrific. She's such a pro."

Milan is a professional actor, director and teacher who began his career in London working with theatre legend Paul Gregory. "Having had the privilege of working and studying with some of the greats of the British theatre I learned that actors must work as part of an ensemble and Joyce's approach to this play is the same. She has assembled a group of first rate actors all of whom understand that each role is as important as the next and that telling the story honestly is what captivates the auddience." If rehearsals are any indication, audiences are certain to be captivated and delighted by this sophisticated and witty comedy.

Hawai'i Pacific University's Paul and Vi Loo Theatre is located on the windward Hawai'i  Loa campus at 45-045 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, directly across from the Pali Golf course entrance.   Reservations are strongly recommended as our theatre is an intimate, air-conditioned 100 seat space and seating is limited, and performances do sell out.   Tickets and further information may be obtained by calling the Box Office at (808) 375-1282.
